As a child, I was fascinated by war movies. One film that left an indelible mark on me was “Schindler’s List.” The tale of Oskar Schindler, a German industrialist who saved over 1,300 Jews from the Nazis, altered my perspective on life. I vowed that I would one day emulate his heroism.
The subdued colors in the artworks of this theme were inspired by the black and white cinematography of the film. It became evident to me that my unconscious mind drew from the movie to create these pieces. I could envision the determined men and women laboring in factories to reconstruct their war-ravaged countries after the conflict.
This theme represents my subconscious tribute to the movie’s virtues: heroism, selflessness, generosity, strength, and courage.
